Jingle Walls

Dry stone walls, dry stone walls,
What a lovely sight;
Oh, what fun it is to sing
A walling song tonight.

Dry stone walls, dry stone walls,
It's a beautiful thing;
Take a break for the holidays,
Let's gather 'round and sing.

Dashing through the snow
In a flatbed Diamond-T,
It's Dry Stone Santa Claus,
With a load for you and me.

He's looked at all our walls,
And then he made a list;
Whistled, and all the forklift elves
Loaded pallets of gifts.

Dry stone walls, dry stone walls,
Hearted all the way;
Oh, what fun it is to work
On a sunny April day.

Dry stone walls, dry stone walls,
Level all the way;
Oh, what fun it is to soak
On a wet November day.

If you always blame the stone,
'cause you're a sorry chap,
Santa's big red lorry
Will bring you plenty rip-rap.

If you don't know how to fit 'em,
And you hit 'em just for kicks,
Put away your hammer, dammit,
Here's a sack of mortar mix.

Dry stone walls, dry stone walls,
Hearted all the way;
Oh, what fun it is to sweat
On a sultry August day.

Dry stone walls, dry stone walls,
Level all the way;
Oh, what fun it is to brrr!
On a February day.

If your joints are all a-running,
'cause you really like that look,
You can learn some more about it
From the Andy Radford book.

But if you've been a good waller,
Kept them up and kept them filled,
Santa's got you something special:
Yes, more walls to build!

Dry stone walls, dry stone walls,
Such a lovely sight;
Oh, what fun it is to sing
This walling song tonight.

Happy Wallidays, y'all.
